1. Positive Discipline - Online Class - (6 clock hours)

Description This training is designed for both novice and experienced child care providers who care for preschool age children. Participants will learn to identify common misbehaviors and how to prevent them; they will learn the goals and guidelines of positive discipline and design a list of preschool classroom rules. Participants will also be actively involved in applying positive discipline techniques to help guide children and promote safe behavior and self-control.

2. Becoming Part of a Professional Team - Online Class - (2 clock hours)

Description This training is designed for both providers who are starting a new job and/or entering the child care field. Participants will learn the importance of professional behavior on the job and how to develop positive relationships with co-workers.

3. Principles of Child Development - Online Class - (2 clock hours)

Description This class is an overview of the principles and domains of child development.

4. Theories of Child Development - Online Class - (2 clock hours)

Description This class is an overview of the developmental outlooks and theories of child development.

5.  While the Children Play:  Your Role- (1 clock hour)

Many programs recognize the value of play and a lot time and materials for it. However, teachers and providers often view this is a time that children are self-sufficient and will use this time to rest or complete other management tasks. In fact, playtime is the key time and opportunity to promote learning and social skills. This child care training class will show you how.

6.  Communication and Conflict- (2 clock hours)

This class will give the learner ideas on how to communicate effectively and prevent and manage conflicts with staff members and parents.
